Expected Goals (xG) Explained

Expected Goals (xG) is a statistical measure that quantifies the quality of scoring chances. It indicates how many goals a team could expect to score based on their chances.

  • xG below 0.1: Very difficult chance
  • xG 0.1 - 0.3: Medium chance
  • xG above 0.3: Good chance
  • xG above 0.7: High-quality chance (e.g. penalty)

Expected Points (xP) Explained

Expected Points (xP) are calculated from the difference between both teams' xG values. They show how many points a team should have earned based on the quality of chances.
